The facilities and their surroundings
The boat house
This building contains boat storage, locker rooms and social areas for the kayaking and canoeing sport club. It has been substantially redecorated and modernised, with a new boat storage room, a locker room and a leisure facility built. The buildings facing the shared garden are connected by a pergola.
The exterior and interior of the old boat house, as well as the engineering facilities and the sanitary blocks have been redecorated; thermal insulation has been installed on the external walls, and the corrugated asbestos roof has replaced with an environmentally friendly material. The indoor sanitary blocks have been reconstructed in an accessible fashion, and the entire sanitary engineering and flooring systems have been replaced. Total base areas of the buildings: 213 m2.
The new boat house
The new boat house is used to store touring and competition boats on steel racks. The wooden framework of the building has an exterior coating without insulation. In order to facilitate moving the boats, there is a gate at either end of the building. The total base area of the buildings is 128 m2.
Locker room building
This building houses locker rooms, sanitary rooms and social areas for both tourists and athletes. The building can admit up to 40 people at the same time. The rooms are fully accessible. The total base area of the buildings is 72 m2.
Leisure facility
The new leisure facility is accessible via the lakeside path, and provides an opportunity for relaxation to tourists throughout the year. It houses a rental kiosk, a cafeteria, a heated room and a programme organisation office. The facility also has an enclosed courtyard and an upstairs lookout terrace, which is also suitable for outdoor events. The leisure facility is also fully accessible, and easy to reach. Total base area of the building: 68 m2.
The new port
A new interlocking floating port has also been installed, which has two mobile lanes and a total base area of 52 m2.
Green surfaces
Additionally, the paved and green surfaces have also been renovated, and a new car park has been built next to the main entrance so as to cater for the increased number of visitors. In is worth noting that the paved and green surfaces cover a total of twenty thousand square metres. It is safe to say that the new centre will start operating within a really spacious environment.

Accessibility to all rooms and services was a main requirement in the course of designing and constructing the centre.
- Centre access: parking spaces reserved for disabled people.
- Building access: all entrances are level with the pavements.
- Entrance, doors and windows: the main entrance and the doors and windows inside the building are designed so as to make using them as easy as possible for disabled people.
- Room sizes and corridors: designed so as to facilitate using a wheelchair.
- Toilets: disabled toilets are situated in one of the locker rooms adjacent to the boat house, and in the leisure facility.
The locker rooms can be used by up to 30 male and 20 female athletes at the same time, and the leisure facility admits up to 10 guests and a staff member at once. The cafeteria in the leisure facility operates on a seasonal basis, and sells packed sweets, pastries and soft drinks.
Open-air parking for 12 cars is available at the facility.
