Back to the Middle Ages

More than 20 local tourist agencies represented themselves at Bikal, where they were introduced to the Renaissance world. In addition to the spectacular bird show and horse-riding demonstrations, the colourful features of the Renaissance Theme Park were also presented to the visitors. The touristic presentation was within the confines of the Baranya Fun Tour and it was a great success. The program's primary goal was to make professionals aware of the service offers of the Baranya Fun Tour. The current presentation took place at the Renaissance Theme Park at Bikal.

A colourful program awaited the visitors: after a short introductory there was a show on the Bird stage with colourful bird presentations and falcon flying demonstrations to amaze visitors. The audience was treated to a first-hand spectacle of swift and agile birds of prey and how they interact with humans.

Afterwards the visitors had a guided tour around the park, where they were introduced to the attractions and sights, which are known as the key to the target audience.

After the brief presentation of the blacksmith, participants could learn about contemporary crafts in the craft houses, such as basket weaving, pottery, and the preparation of gingerbread or leather.

At the end of the tour the team rested in the grand hall of the Palace, where they were told about the Stars of Pannonia. The representative of the project owner -the Government of Baranya County- presented the individual project elements including the Hidden Wine Village in Mecseknádasd, the Orfű Active Water Touristic Centre, which was consigned the previous week, the Pécs-Orfű-Abaliget Bicycle Trail, which is in progress and the Orfű Aquapark, which will be handed over in mid-August. The concept of the Renaissance Theme Park, which is the fifth station of the Baranya Fun Tour, was foreshown by the owner, László Kollár. He said that the Hungarian audience is a particularly important target group for tourism and therefore has to be handled with high priority. A great emphasis should be placed on everyone finding their tastes in recreation catered. The continuous development and renewal has also priority at the Renaissance Theme Park. In the following years the current central square is planned to be filled with attractions, which further enrich the offerings of the Renaissance Theme Park at Bikal.
